“From the highs and lows and moments between, mountains and valleys, and rivers and streams, for where you are now and where you will go, for “I’ve always known” and “I told you so,” and “nothing is happening” and “all has gone wrong,” it is here in this journey you will learn to be strong. You will get where you’re going, landing where you belong"
Morgan Harper Nichols

Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Emma Streater and you are looking at my e-portfolio. Now, let us think of my e-portfolio as a canvas. At the beginning of my academic career at SPCC in 2018, it was fresh and clean. As the semesters passed and I began to immerse myself in the environment, the canvas was painted on. The people I met, the classes I have taken, and the work I have completed over the years have all made their individual marks on my canvas. Some of them are intricate and beautiful, while some are random paint splatters. The canvas that is my e-portfolio is still a work in progress. Honestly, I believe that it will never be truly complete, because one of my main goals in life is to continue learning in everything that I do. I love learning and applying what I learn to my everyday life. My e-portfolio will showcase all that I have learned so far as the art it is.

Making the decision to attend SPCC while also attending high school was one of the most important decisions of my life. The overall theme of my e-portfolio is the journey of becoming my best self. By putting myself in the rigorous environment that SPCC provides, it helped me grow in so many areas. Not only did I grow academically, I grew personally. I was able to make connections with my peers and professors. My classes were not just about doing the work and receiving a good grade. It was about digging deep into the assignment and reflecting on what you learned. My one overarching goal is to help people. SPCC helped me, and with everything that I learned from my journey, I can go on to help others with everything that I am.

The purpose of my e-portfolio is to encapsulate my journey at SPCC. In this e-portfolio, you will learn all about me. You will get a little inside look of who I am through my personal introduction. Next, you will get to view pieces from my academic journey that showcase skills I have strengthened overtime. Additionally, there will be reflections on each piece of work that discuss my strengths, weaknesses, and goals. This practice was among one of my favorite aspects about the e-portfolio because not only did I have to look into my work, I had to look into myself. The work that you will come across are different paintings on the canvas of my e-portfolio that encapsulates my academic career with SPCC. Hopefully you can take away from my journey and add to your canvas. I hope you enjoy your time here!
